Holy Water is from Wake Self's posthumous album, "Ready To Live." The hip hop artist and community activist was killed by a drunk driver on Nov. 5, 2019. He never got the opportunity to release his album and instead, his family released the project to honor the continuation of Wake's message.

Produced in collaboration with the Institute of American Indian Arts, Holy Water was one of the last videos that Wake Self shot before his passing. Holy Water is about a spiritual path to enlightenment, while facing inner demons along the way and allowing inner guidance to lead the journey. The film was conceptualized, directed and produced by Wake Self's partner and collaborator, Noor-un-nisa Touchon.

Iconic New Mexico MC Def-i continues on his grind and drops “America Has Always Loved Drugs,” the final single/video from his reimagined album, Oceans Deserted – The Remixes with veteran producer Ariano. The remixed version of “America Has Always Loved Drugs” is a heavily stripped-down version of the original. Ariano’s production is driven purely by an electric guitar and fades away, at times, to nothingness, allowing Def-i to truly showcase his rapid-fire lyricism with flawless delivery.

The video for “America Has Always Loved Drugs,” directed and edited by Nathaniel Fuentes of HK Productions, marks a new direction for Def-i’s visuals with a cinematic styling starring actors MorningStar Angeline Wilson-Chippewa Freeland and Charles R Montoya as young lovers navigating the secrets and betrayals of drug abuse. Def-i is the proverbial “fly on the wall” for what unfolds, a silent narrator guiding us through the story.
